Welcome to Barque, Robert. Sometimes the forums are busy and sometimes it seems members take a rest at the same time and sometimes a post sits for a few days before people share responses in which case it's working without visible signs of activity. Thomas Moore is in the middle of a book tour for A Life of Work and he kindly posted from San Francisco. He's also in the middle of an online course with Spirituality and Practice, and preparing for a keynote address at the beginning of April. Please join the current forum discussions or start one of your own. We've been discussing the new book and the next one, tentatively called Soul of Medicine. Any useful tips for Barque members about maintaining this romantic and spiritual adventure of life? Delete Comment

First of all, I would like to say that I feel very honored to be part of this on-line community. I can't say that I ever remember being a seeker of anything, but I have been fortunate enough to find out some things about spirituality and the nature of consciousness that work pretty well for me. It looks like Thomas Moore and many of the people involved in this ongoing conversation are interested in some of the same things. When I look back, it feels like that eighteen year-old kid that began his freshman year at the University of California at Berkeley in 1961 was pretty much a blank canvas. I'd like to think that I was the kind of guy who wanted to do the right thing...if I could only figure out what that was...and, hopefully, doing the right thing wouldn't leave me broke, hungry, lonelyor sleeping on the benches at the bus station. Now that I'm 64, I'm glad to say that things have worked out pretty well and that life is still an ongoing, romantic, spiritual adventure. I hope that I can make useful contributions to what is being discussed here. Aloha,
